CHEM has formed a Technical Committee under the chairmanship of Geoff Creamer of Edbro plc to deal with the forthcoming regulation concerning WVTA. The regulation for heavy goods vehicles and their trailers will be fully operational by 2014. CHEM has been active during the past year in compiling information and attending various seminars in order to be as fully informed as possible about this radical change to the certification of road vehicles prior to their registration for road use. The bottom line of this regulation is that no vehicle will be licensed for use on public roads unless it has a Certificate of Conformity issued by the supplier of the complete or completed vefhicle.
